Two events are open to all interested in celebrating, learning about, and supporting spiritual care services.

The 8:00 am Spiritual Caregivers Appreciation Breakfast is hosted by: Area Christians Together in Service (ACTS). The $10 per breakfast price will be collected at the door from all pre-registered attendees. Others who do not wish to eat are welcome to fellowship with us at no cost.
Holistic Living Community Workshop
The 9:30am to 11:30am Spiritual Care and Workshop included a panel presentation focusing on the Community component of Holistic Living.
We define Community to be “People Together”. We expand it to: “Community is a mosaic of natural and human-made elements that relate to the physical, mental, and spiritual components of living together and caring for all.”
Many of us are caring for persons dealing with Community issues. They may be family members, friends, neighbors, or congregational members, we want to help in the best ways we can.

Stephen Crupi
Stephen grew up in Elmira, NY, and he has been the pastor of Christian Faith Fellowship since July 2023.
He is married to Maggie, and they have one daughter, Maria Alma. Stephen completed his bachelor’s degree in Pre-Seminary Bible from Cedarville University, and he then studied at Duke Divinity School where he received a Masters in Divinity. Following seminary, Stephen served for over four years at Bishop Allison Theological College in Arua, Uganda, where he was both a lecturer and the college’s Academic Dean.
Before becoming the pastor at Christian Faith Fellowship, Stephen also served for over a year as a chaplain with Arnot Health. He is grateful for the opportunity to use his education and experiences to serve in the region where he grew up, and he is excited about how the church can minister in our local community.
Daniel Mandell
Graduated from Corning Community College with an Associates Degree in Science. Six years in the United States Air Force. Three years active duty and three years in the Air National Guard. Honorably discharged as a Sergeant.
Employed by the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division for thirty six years. Fourteen years were in the administration and retired with the rank of Captain.
Currently serving as Mayor of the City of Elmira. First elected in 2015. Currently serving on the Chemung County Age Advisory Board. Currently the Vice President of the Board at EOP. Executive Board member of Southern Economic Growth (STEG). Serving as a Board Member on the Chemung County Youth Football League. Served as a Commissioner on the Elmira Water Board from 2012 through 2016.
Sara Shaut
A graduate of Binghamton University with a master’s degree in public administration, Sara Shaut joined the Community Foundation in 2008 and serves as Vice President of Programs. Sara is responsible for all program and grantmaking activities at the foundation totaling over $2.5 million annually. She also takes pride in making sure the foundation plants are watered regularly.
Before joining the Community Foundation, Sara managed fund development and alumni affairs at Corning Community College and was Director of Public Affairs and Communications for Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Friends of Woodlawn Cemetery and volunteers often at the Chemung County SPCA.
Sara lives in Elmira with her son, two dogs, and three cats. A forever resident of the Southern Finger Lakes, Sara is proud of the place she calls home and is committed to its well-being.
