Pastor Curt and wife, Nancy, ministered at Christian Life Church in Waverly, New York for 22 years. During that time, he became a volunteer with Prison Fellowship Ministries and began teaching a regular Thursday night Bible study, as well as leading PF Seminars at the Elmira Correctional Facility beginning in 1989.
In 2000, Prison Fellowship hired Pastor Curt to serve as a Western New York Field Director to recruit and train Christian volunteers to serve in NY State Correctional Facilities. In 2004, he left Christian Life Church to serve with Prison Fellowship full time. While serving as NY field director, he met Pastor Doug Smith who had founded Golden Key Prison Ministry. The Lord took Pastor Doug Smith home shortly after he met Pastor Curt, who became interim director for Golden Key in 2008. In that same year, Pastor Curt was asked to join the Training and Learning Services Team at the PF headquarters in Lansdowne, VA where he designed materials and led training conferences for PF staff, churches, and prisoners.
An unfortunate downturn in income forced PF to reduce a large number to staff in 2009 including Pastor Curt. At that time, God called Pastor Curt to become the full-time Executive Director of Golden Key Prison Ministry that serves five county jails in south central New York plus Elmira Correctional Facility where he continues to serve today. He and his wife live in Candor, New York and attend Straits Corners Baptist Church.
